A Eulogy.

Created for the group exhibition Transmutation, The Dream of Before is an attempt to navigate loss and grief while the specter of trauma looms above. It is a dreamscape of escapist fantasies that are caught and twisted into reflections of traumatic experiences. It also seeks to find solace and comfort in spite of the loss, and the internal chaos that being a survivor of trauma brings.

"O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise."
Psalm 51:15-17 KJV
